Next year, Dodge will sell what it claims is the fastest and most powerful mass-produced sedan in the world: the 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye. It ripples with muscle thanks to a supercharged 797-horsepower 6.2-liter Hemi V-8, mounted beneath a new performance hood with a functional air intake. It's engineered to reign at the dragstrip with quarter-mile times of 10.6 seconds at 129 mph. It runs to 60 mph in the mid-3s, according to Dodge. And it has a top speed of 203 mph.

The Charger Hellcat Redeye springboards from the Charger Hellcat, itself featuring increased power for 2021 with a new 717-hp rating. The Redeye's engine is pumped up with 25 major component upgrades, the most significant of these a 2.7-liter supercharger, which Dodge says is the largest supercharger in any production car. The Redeye's engine also gets an exclusive SRT Power Chiller system. And here's a fun fact: with your right foot pressing the accelerator to the floor, the Hellcat Redeye guzzles 1.43 gallons of fuel in a minute. At that rate, the entire gas tank empties in 11 minutes. But when cruising on the highway, you can get up to 22 mpg.

Power is sent to the Charger Hellcat Redeye's rear wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Redeye includes the Charger's Widebody fender flares, increasing the width of the car by 3.5 inches and making room for the Pirelli 305/35ZR20 all-season or summer performance tires. Other performance goodies include stuff you'd also find on a Hellcat, like Launch Control and Launch Assist systems, a Race Cooldown function, an adaptive damping suspension, performance brakes, and Torque Reserve.

You can tell a Redeye apart from a standard Hellcat Widebody by its lightweight 20-inch Carbon Black wheels. Step into the cabin and you'll find an exclusive red 220-mph speedometer and Redeye logos, including for the key fob. Through the car's Uconnect infotainment system, an SRT Performance Pages feature keeps track of various performance statistics from your drive.

You'll be able to reserve the 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye in the fall, and cars will start arriving in dealerships early 2021.
